An automotive cluster is planned to be created in Khabarovsk. This was announced at a meeting chaired by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev.
The meeting with the Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Dmitry Demeshin, and other regional leaders discussed issues of industrial and economic development of the region.
We must move forward as quickly as possible. We must keep up with the technologies of the world around us. Yes, there are certain areas of technological development in which Russia is not just keeping up, but is ahead of others. But we cannot stand still either.
The basis of the new automotive cluster will be the Amurbas bus assembly plant, which will use components from the Volgograd company Volgabas. The first stage involves establishing stable production of passenger buses, and in the future, component production will be developed around the plant. The timing of this project and the amount of investment have not yet been disclosed.
