Roscosmos has shown a picture of the Neper crater from the eastern visible part of the Moon. The image was published by the press service of the state corporation.
The crater is about 142 km in diameter (a state the size of Montenegro could fit inside).
The ancient impact crater is 3.9–4.1 billion years old. It formed during the Late Heavy Bombardment. The crater is often seen in a distorted perspective because it is located at the limb (edge of the lunar disk).
The shooting was done with a Schmidt-Cassegrain C/9.25 XLT telescope, ASI678MC camera, UV&IR Cut filter (equivalent focal length 2350mm).
Earlier www1.ru reported that Roscosmos showed a picture of the fire in Los Angeles from the Resurs-P satellite.
