Новый «Суперджет» не сможет садиться на все ВПП: испытания водой провели для проверки пределов

Commission to Approve Aircraft Operation on Runways with Precipitation up to a Certain Depth

At the Gromov Flight Research Institute airfield in Zhukovsky, tests were conducted on the fully import-substituted "Superjet" with Russian PD-8 engines in a special water basin. Alexey Kubasov, Deputy Director for Development of the "Regional Aircraft" branch of PJSC "Yakovlev", explained why they were carried out.

The aircraft was accelerated along a specially constructed 70-meter-long "pool" to test the systems' resistance to water ingress during takeoff and landing.

We are assessing how safe the aircraft's design is from water ingress for future safe operation. We built a pool and poured a controlled amount of water into it, as required for certification purposes. The aircraft performs runs at different speeds. We are creating standardized conditions, and if there are no comments from the experts, the same amount of water will be allowed for operation with a runway covered with precipitation up to a certain depth.

According to him, the tests are necessary to include data in the aircraft type certificate. The design must guarantee that water does not enter the air intakes of the main engines and auxiliary power unit during movement.

Kubasov emphasized that during the modernization, the developers tried to preserve all the best features of the previous version of the aircraft.

In fact, the same well-known classic "Superjet" is simply being transformed and becoming Russian.

The "Superjet" with PD-8 engines, created as part of the import substitution program, has become one of the key projects of the updated line of Russian civil aviation. Successful tests in the "pool" confirm the aircraft's readiness for operation in all weather conditions.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia will earn billions of dollars for the aviation industry by producing SJ-100 abroad.
