Ashinsky Metallurgical Plant will lay off more than 300 employees

Ashinsky Metallurgical Plant (AMZ) in the Chelyabinsk region will reduce production and staff. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

By the end of 2025, the company will mothball the stainless steel workshop due to the termination of the production of household goods and will dismiss more than 300 employees. The order was signed by the general director of the plant.

The dismissed employees were offered options for further employment at a meeting with representatives of the personnel department, trade union, training center, employment service and the city prosecutor's office.

AMZ is a city-forming enterprise in the region, one of the largest manufacturers of special alloys in Russia - amorphous and electrical steel, heavy plate. AMZ products are necessary for the needs of military factories, oil and gas, chemical, nuclear, aviation and space industries.

Earlier, the Supreme Court returned control of the Ivanovo Heavy Machine Tool Plant, which is crucial for the defense industry, to the Rostec State Corporation.
