UMG Group Presents First Russian Serial Snow Grooming Machine RT-6

RT-6 is capable of operating on slopes, winter roads, and even in Arctic conditions

At the Innoprom-2025 international exhibition in Yekaterinburg, UMG Group showcased the first Russian serial snow grooming machine RT-6. The development was carried out by the Chelyabinsk Construction and Road Machines (ChSDM) enterprise.

RT-6 weighs 6.3 tons and is equipped with a 6-cylinder YaMZ-536 engine with a power of 313 hp, making it the most powerful in its class. The 250-liter fuel tank ensures long-term autonomous operation. The maximum transport speed reaches 24 km/h, and the milling speed is 16 km/h. The machine is capable of operating on slopes up to 35°, which allows it to be used on ski-biathlon and ski slopes.

The snow groomer is designed not only for sports facilities. It can be used for preparing winter roads, transporting goods up to 1.5 tons in Arctic conditions, as well as at airfields and highways. The cabin has space for a passenger, and an additional passenger capsule for eight people can be installed on the cargo platform.

According to Konstantin Nikolaev, General Director of UMG, an experimental batch of six machines will be produced in 2025, and serial production with a capacity of at least 40 snow groomers per year will start in 2026. Orders for 15 units have already been received. "RT-6 meets international standards and surpasses foreign analogues in a number of characteristics," Nikolaev noted, adding that the demand for such machines is supported by the federal program "Sport is a way of life."

The first machine was tested at a ski base in Korkino (Chelyabinsk region), after which improvements were made to the design. The level of localization of the second sample will exceed 85%.

RT-6 is provided with five types of front blades up to 3.4 meters wide and five options for the rear milling cutter, including a set for cutting ski tracks.
