Chelyabinsk is preparing for the emergence of a modern urban parking management system. Rosatom State Corporation has announced the launch of a project that will allow residents to more easily find available parking spaces and pay for parking via a mobile application.
Rosatom Infrastructure Solutions JSC (RIS) has become the technological partner of the Chelyabinsk Mayor's Office in creating a smart parking system. Gorodskie Tekhnologii Company, part of RIS, will supply photo-fixation systems of its own production, develop software, an Internet portal, and a mobile application for citizens.
All project solutions are completely domestic and included in the Register of Russian Software and Radio-Electronic Products.
Smart parking is a complex that automatically records available and occupied spaces, as well as monitors payment. Cameras and sensors transmit data to the system, and the application shows drivers up-to-date information in real time. The introduction of such technologies allows unloading central streets, reducing parking search time, and increasing the transparency of urban infrastructure.
RIS is already using its IT solutions in more than ten cities in Russia, including Belgorod, Novosibirsk, and Yekaterinburg. The experience of these cities has shown a reduction in traffic jams and convenience for motorists due to digital control of parking spaces and integration with mobile payment services.
