Росатом создаёт инновационный зарядный комплекс для электромобилей в Калининграде

The use of energy storage will allow operation in remote areas

Rosatom plans to open a charging complex for electric vehicles in the Kaliningrad region by the end of 2025. This was announced by Yulia Kedrova, Head of the Department for the Development of Integrated Projects in the Regions of the "Electric Mobility" business area of TVEL.

The complex will be equipped with electric charging stations with energy storage, capable of providing a charging power of up to 120 kW. This technology is particularly important for remote areas where connection to electrical networks is limited. Storage devices allow accumulating electricity during idle periods and using it for fast charging of cars, reducing the load on the network and expanding the geography of the infrastructure.

In 2024, two charging complexes were already installed in the region, designed for simultaneous connection of up to 30 electric vehicles. The new project involves expanding the network and testing innovative solutions, including mobile stations with a battery capacity of 35 kWh and a power of 30 kW, capable of operating at a distance of up to 500 meters from the base station.

According to Rosatom specialists, an integrated approach to creating a charging infrastructure will accelerate the development of environmentally friendly transport in the region and increase convenience for electric vehicle owners. New technologies will provide "fast" charging in a variety of conditions and will be a step towards expanding the network of electric filling stations in Russia.
