To ensure the safety of a chemical plant in the Tula region from drone attacks, an airship barrier system using dirigibles will be created. For confidentiality purposes, the name of the customer is not disclosed.
The technology involves placing airships around the protected object with a net stretched between them to intercept drones.
The system has been adapted to modern threats: special cables are capable of handling devices flying at speeds up to 800 km/h, including those with metal wings.
Such installations are designed to protect specific objects, including warehouses and factories, and demonstrate increased efficiency compared to similar ground-based solutions.
This method was used during the First World War, when airships with cables were used to hinder the flights of enemy aircraft. During the Great Patriotic War, these structures were used to protect Moscow from bombing.
Earlier www1.ru reported that India requested additional missiles for the S-400 air defense system from Russia.
