At the Kapustin Yar range, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev personally observed the progress of tests of promising weapon prototypes. He was shown the new 300-mm multiple launch rocket system 'Sarma' based on the KAMAZ-63501 armored chassis, the 152-mm wheeled self-propelled artillery unit 'Malva', the multi-barrel GShG-7.62 machine gun on a mount, the V2U kamikaze strike drone, and several stationary anti-aircraft gun and machine gun systems.
The wheeled SPG 'Malva' is a mobile artillery system of 152 mm caliber, adapted to modern realities of field operations. It combines the firepower of a classic howitzer with high maneuverability and rapid redeployment. Similar wheeled solutions are used worldwide for accelerated deployment and reduced maintenance costs.
MLRS 'Sarma' was previously presented in the exposition of 'Motovilikha Plants' during a recent visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to the enterprise. The vehicle is built on an eight-wheel KAMAZ-63501 chassis with an armored cabin and is designed for the use of 300-mm projectiles. The presence of a wheeled armored chassis simplifies logistics and increases mobility compared to heavy tracked platforms.
GShG-7.62 is a multi-barrel rapid-fire machine gun with a rotating barrel block and high rate of fire, designed to engage both ground targets and light aircraft. Its mounting on a stand makes the system effective for perimeter defense, covering important objects, and integration into anti-aircraft solutions.
V2U kamikaze drone is a new-generation loitering munition with elements of autonomy and target recognition algorithms. Such UAVs allow for precision strikes on vulnerable objects and simultaneously create a threat to infrastructure and air defense assets, making the development of countermeasures against these drones a priority for the defense industry.
