The transport and logistics sector in Russia has faced a sharp increase in DDoS attacks: more than 1.5 thousand incidents were recorded in September 2025, which is almost twice the number of attacks for the entire first half of the year. This data is provided by analysts at RED Security for RIA Novosti.
According to experts, the trend towards an increase in attacks on logistics organizations was also observed last year, but on a smaller scale. In 2024, the growth began in July and peaked by September. In 2025, the surge in hacker activity occurred exclusively in September. Experts attribute this to the beginning of the business season, when disruptions in the operation of companies cause maximum financial and reputational damage.
The longest attack in September 2025 lasted more than a day — 37.5 hours. At the same time, the intensity and duration of attacks remain at an average level, and only their frequency has increased.
Mikhail Gorshilin, Head of Managed Cybersecurity Services at RED Security, noted that attackers are likely testing the protection of companies before more serious attacks in order to distribute resources as efficiently as possible and hit more organizations at the same time.
