Russian fiber-optic controlled drones "Hortensia" have begun to be used as scouts. The modular design allows the complex to be adapted to different tasks.
The technical director of the "Hortensia" production project with the call sign Mex clarified that "monthly batches of drones are 2000-3000 drones", that is, we are talking about mass production.
The key feature of the "Hortensia" devices is their modularity. The same device can be re-equipped for reconnaissance, delivery or fire damage.
Unified mounts and suspensions allow you to quickly change the configuration. The stability of the use of "Hortensia" is increased by a combination of using a fiber optic cable and a radio transmitter.
Fiber optics is not a trend, but a necessity. We combined it with a radio signal to further increase survivability.
In addition, there is a modification of the drone that allows you to drop up to 14 ammunition at a time. Another option is the suspension of a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher. The operator directs the drone at the target and remotely fires a shot.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a new UAV "Axis-25-R" was shown in Russia: two engines and a range of up to 300 km.
