Another Soviet Tu-214 "Lifted on the Wing" in Kazan: Flew Along the MC-21-300 Route

The aircraft arrived in Syktyvkar for flight tests

Specialists from the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ, part of Tupolev PJSC, Rostec) have brought another Tu-214 aircraft to flightworthy condition. The aircraft with tail number 64509 has arrived in Syktyvkar for testing.

The aircraft previously made eight circles over Salekhard, and then made at least four landing approaches at Syktyvkar Airport.

Together with the Tu-214, on October 10, flight system checks were carried out on the MC-21-300 aircraft, which followed the same route and returned to its base in Zhukovsky.

The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) noted that the Tu-21 passenger aircraft fully meet international requirements for emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere and noise on the ground.

Former General Director of KAZ, Nail Khairullin, explained that the company would have to resume mass production of the Tu-214, as the promising MC-21-310 has not yet confirmed its declared flight range.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian tires for the chassis of MC-21 and SJ-100 airliners have successfully passed certification.
