At the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, KamAZ presented a new KamAZ-52229 tourist bus. This A5 generation model runs on compressed natural gas (CNG), the company's press service reported.
The new model was created in collaboration with specialists from Gazprom. Inside the cabin, there are 47 seats, a mini-kitchen with a refrigerator, a restroom, video surveillance and climate control systems. Each passenger has an individual service unit, seats are equipped with seat belt detection sensors, USB charging ports, armrests and folding tables.
The bus allows for shifting the seat towards the aisle and adjusting the backrest angle. The luggage compartment volume is at least 3 cubic meters, and hand luggage can be conveniently placed on the shelves above the seats.
The driver's seat is equipped with pneumatic suspension, a three-point seat belt, an adjustable headrest and armrest, a heating system, presence and seat belt detection sensors. In addition, a sleeping place is provided for the driver.
The bus is equipped with a KamAZ gas engine with a capacity of 320 horsepower and a robotic gearbox. Gas tanks with a total volume of 1110 liters are installed on the roof of the bus, providing a range of at least 500 km. To increase safety, gas leak detection sensors are installed in the engine compartment and in the location of the gas cylinders.
