Experts from the Digital Expertise Center of Roskachestvo explained how to protect themselves from attacks by scammers using deepfake technologies and neural bots. One of the most effective methods is the use of unique code phrases with loved ones.
Deepfake and AI have reached a level where it is difficult to distinguish a fake from a real person by voice or video. Creating a secret password with loved ones is a simple and extremely effective way to protect yourself.
The code phrase should be unique, unobvious, and known only to the participants in the conversation. It helps to expose a scammer, even if he imitates the voice of a relative or friend.
In addition, experts advise practicing "digital detox": with suspicious calls or messages, you need to pause for 5-10 seconds, put the phone aside and ask yourself control questions: "Why is this person putting pressure on me? What will he get if I hurry?" This helps to break the scenario prepared by the attacker.
For additional protection, it is recommended to switch the communication channel: if they call from a "bank", call back the official number; if a "relative" writes, contact them directly in another way. You should not report real data during social surveys, especially those relating to banks, accounts and loans.
Experts advise restricting access to personal information, not publishing confidential data, and regularly checking privacy settings. Two-factor authentication and application permission control will help block unauthorized access to accounts.
