«Брошенные» в России автозаводы полностью возобновили работу под управлением российских инвесторов

In 2024, more than 142,000 cars were produced from these enterprises

Almost all car factories abandoned by foreign investors in 2022 are now operating under the leadership of Russian companies, according to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov, in an interview with TASS. Many enterprises, together with partners from friendly countries, have undertaken obligations to deepen the localization of production.

For these "abandoned" capacities, solutions were found in a relatively short time — almost all of them are now operating under the leadership of Russian investors. As a regulator, we have consistently created comfortable investment conditions for their operation

In 2024, more than 142,000 cars were produced at these factories, which is one and a half times more than in 2023. The total production of cars in Russia for the year exceeded 967,000 units, 15.3% more than in 2023, and approximately one and a half times higher than the level of 2022.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation continues to implement the automotive industry strategy until 2035, aimed at the technological sovereignty of the industry, the creation of an independent component and engineering base, as well as the development of internal competencies and technologies. These measures became especially relevant after the departure of foreign automakers such as Renault, Toyota, Nissan and Mercedes-Benz, and the imposition of external sanctions in 2022, when some factories were forced to stop production lines and reduce output.
