A part-time work week has been officially introduced at AvtoVAZ. The decision was made as a result of the work of a commission associated with trade unions. Employees of the enterprise will retain payments of the minimum monthly salary, as well as seniority allowances and benefits for women on maternity leave.
The main reason for the transition to a part-time work week: an increase in imports of foreign cars, price dumping by foreign brands, a high key rate and tightening requirements for car loans.
General Director of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov said that 300 thousand cars will be produced by the end of the year. This is less than the previously announced annual plan of 500 thousand cars.
AvtoVAZ's production facilities are located not only in Togliatti, but also in Izhevsk, where Lada Largus is assembled, and in St. Petersburg, where the production of Lada Iskra has been established.
