The Russian online encyclopedia RUVIKI has launched an artificial intelligence ecosystem to automate the updating of materials and ensure their safety.
Artificial intelligence solves several tasks. It tracks news in reliable sources and introduces fresh facts, such as the latest records, appointments or discoveries. The system analyzes information to supplement articles, checks facts and formats them in an encyclopedic style. In addition, AI transforms short notes into full-fledged articles based on data from several sources, followed by verification. To protect content, algorithms identify vandal edits, counteract attacks, and help editors correct materials that may not comply with the laws of the Russian Federation.
Since the beginning of 2025, under the control of the editorial board, AI has enriched 20 thousand articles, created 32 thousand new materials in Russian and 12 thousand for sections in the languages of the peoples of Russia. This helps to solve routine tasks, such as maintaining the relevance and security of content, without losing quality. Experts, including researchers, retain control over the accuracy of texts based on their expertise.
RUVIKI positions itself as an encyclopedia of facts, where volunteers and editors update thousands of pages every month. The platform is expanding cooperation with the Russian Academy of Sciences, libraries and museums for expert evaluation of materials.
