Russian strike drones "Geran-2" will begin to perform their combat mission more effectively by at least 30%. The developers have introduced a 40-kg high-explosive fragmentation warhead into the drones.
At the same time, the old warhead remains in the drone's body, and now the total weight is 90 kg.
Analysts noted that the possible modification will reduce the radius of action from 1800 to 1200 km, however, a warhead weighing 90 kg will cause much more significant damage than 50 kg.
The new, heavier warhead also received a belt of ready-made striking elements for additional damage.
Main technical characteristics of "Geran-2":
- Length - 3.5 m
- Take-off weight - up to 200 kg
- Speed - 150-180 km/h
- Flight altitude - 60-4000 m
- Flight duration - 10-12 hours
Prior to that, "Geran-2" received a machine vision complex, a guidance camera and a radio modem for direct control,becoming much more accurate.
