Kazan residents will soon be able to pay for travel on the metro, trams, and trolleybuses directly in the Yandex Go application. An agreement on the implementation of the new system was signed by Yandex and Metroelectrotrans as part of the Kazan Digital Week forum.
The service will allow passengers to buy tickets using a QR code or via Bluetooth without using a bank card or cash.
The company emphasized that the introduction of this Yandex technology will allow paying for travel through the usual application, even if there is no wallet at hand.
The first city where such a system was launched was Yaroslavl - the launch took place in the spring of 2025. Expansion is expected in Novgorod in the near future, and then the service is planned to be introduced in dozens of other Russian cities.
