Over Half a Million Hacking Attacks Occurred During Elections in Russia

The work of the electoral commission's website was disrupted

The Head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Russia, Ella Pamfilova, reported alarming statistics: during the elections, over 500,000 hacking attacks were recorded on all resources supporting the electoral process.

At a briefing dedicated to the preliminary results of the 2025 elections, Pamfilova noted that since the start of voting, more than 700 attacks have been registered on the infrastructure of remote electronic voting (REV). This number significantly exceeds similar figures recorded during the presidential elections, when 460 attacks were recorded. At the same time, the total number of attacks on all CEC resources amounted to 500,000.

Since the start of voting, more than 500,000 attacks have been recorded on our resources and 700 attacks on the remote electronic voting infrastructure.

As a result of the attack, there were problems with access to the CEC website. The resource was periodically unavailable, and the broadcast did not work on it either.
