Ryazan has launched the first project in Russia for paying for travel on land transport using biometrics. The first trolleybuses with Sber terminals went on route 16A, which is used daily by about 1.5 thousand passengers.
Testing will last until October 2025, after which the authorities and operators will decide on scaling the technology to other routes and modes of transport. The new system is integrated into a single fare payment scheme and allows you to pass control in a few seconds.
Sber emphasized that biometric payment is highly secure: data cannot be lost or transferred to third parties, and built-in algorithms block fraud attempts, including the use of photos or videos.
