More than 20 units of mining equipment illegally connected to power grids were discovered in a forest belt in Irkutsk. This was reported to journalists in the press service of the "Irkutsk Electric Grid Company."
According to preliminary estimates, the income from gray mining amounted to about 250 thousand rubles monthly, and the damage from unauthorized electricity consumption reached about 1 million rubles.
Gray mining poses a serious problem for power grid companies. According to the Stolypin Institute, the annual damage is about 10 billion rubles. At the same time, the economy loses about 9.6 billion rubles due to non-payment of taxes by miners.
