The United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec) has certified the first part manufactured using additive technology for the serial production PD-14 engine, which is used in the certification tests of the MC-21-310 aircraft, the company's press service reports.
Alexander Aksenov, Deputy Chief Engineer for Additive Technologies at "UEC-Aviadvigatel", said that the certified part of the hot section of the aircraft engine, manufactured by additive method, is the combustion chamber swirler of the PD-14 engine.
Such parts are used in serial PD-14s, which provide certification tests for the MC-21-310 aircraft.
Only Russian materials, created in collaboration with scientific organizations and institutes, are used for the additive manufacturing of parts.
UEC clarified that the materials in their original form are a metal powder composition, each particle of which is a complex alloy. These include corrosion-resistant steels, heat-resistant cobalt and nickel alloys, as well as titanium and aluminum alloys.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the millionth titanium ingot for the construction of the MC-21 and SJ-100 was smelted in Russia.
