The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) plans to massively introduce its own textbooks for in-depth study of physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, and biology for grades 10–11 in Russian schools starting September 1, 2026.
Testing of the textbooks will begin as early as September 1, 2025. In parallel, the institute is developing similar manuals for grades 7–9, which will take 2–3 years to prepare.
To a greater extent, by the way, this applies today to biology or computer science than to physics, because revolutionary changes are now taking place in biology and computer science – for example, genetic editing or the development of deep machine learning technologies
This is important because the new textbooks will help schoolchildren gain a more modern and in-depth understanding of the natural sciences. The introduction of such textbooks also contributes to the standardization of the level of training of schoolchildren in natural science subjects.
