New TOS-3 "Dragon" flamethrower systems have entered service with the Russian military. Initially, they were developed on the basis of T-72B3 tanks, but now versions on the chassis of gas turbine T-80s have appeared.
Judging by the footage on the Web, there is an autonomous power unit in the rear, which is connected when the main engine is not running. This allows you to save the life of the power plant and save fuel.
The T-80s have proven themselves to be maneuverable and high-speed vehicles with less acoustic signature, which allows them to literally "sneak up" on the enemy.
The TOS-3 "Dragon" launcher itself has also been modified - the number of guide barrels has decreased, and they have also become longer.
Thanks to the use of new rockets, accuracy has increased, and the range has increased to 15 km.
