Slyusar noted that the PD-8 is now successfully flying on the Superjet, and in 2025 the engine will be prepared for the re-motorization of Be-200 aircraft, which Putin called popular machines.
The PD-8 two-circuit turbofan engine was developed at the UEC-Saturn enterprise. Engineers applied the experience of creating a more powerful PD-14 engine. To speed up PD-8 certification, computer modeling methods are used.
