As part of the development project for the Baimskaya ore zone in Chukotka, Rosatom will supply four floating power units in 2028-2030. This was reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin by the head of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Vladislav Kuznetsov.

After a visit to the United States, the Russian President flew to Chukotka, where he held a working meeting with the governor of the region, Vladislav Kuznetsov.

He recalled that this is one of the largest copper deposits in the world and a deposit that will increase copper production in the Russian Federation by a quarter.

The development of the Baimskaya ore zone began in 2018 at the Eastern Economic Forum, where Russian President Vladimir Putin launched this project. This project is part of the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Far East and the Baikal Region until 2025, as well as the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug until 2030.
