Scammers have started using fake city morgue websites to collect personal data of Russians. This was reported by the Russian cyber police.
A court in St. Petersburg has already blocked two phishing resources that mimicked the official websites of institutions. Their addresses contained the word "morgue", which misled users. Through fake application forms, attackers collected personal data, including name, phone number and email address.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that such sites may reappear, despite the blockages. The agency reminded of the importance of checking contacts and addresses of institutions only through official sources.
Users are also advised to be wary of sites that require unnecessary data under the pretext of an "urgent request".
