In July 2025, the Solaris KRX cross-hatchback (Russian-assembled Kia Rio X-Line) topped the sales of Solaris models, while sales of the Solaris HS (Hyundai Solaris) decreased significantly.
According to "Autostat", a record number of Solaris cars were sold in Russia in July — 3326 cars, which became the maximum figure since the brand appeared on the market.
The most popular model was the KRX cross-hatchback, also known as the Kia Rio X-Line, with sales reaching 1207 units. It was followed by the Kia Rio sedan (Solaris KRS) with 1050 cars sold. The third place was taken by the Hyundai Creta crossover (Solaris HC), sold in the amount of 906 units. At the same time, the Hyundai Solaris sedan (Solaris HS) significantly lagged behind the leaders, its sales amounted to only 163 cars.
Production of Solaris began in February last year at the sites of the AGR Group of companies, located at the former Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg. The cars went on sale in March 2024. The previous sales record was set in April 2025 — then 2298 Solaris cars were sold.
This result underscores the growing demand for updated Kia and Hyundai models, as well as a shift in consumer preferences towards crossovers and cross-hatchbacks. These sales reflect a trend in the new car market, influencing the strategy of manufacturers and the choice of customers.
