Solaris KRX Cross-Hatchback Becomes Brand's Sales Leader in Russia in July

Solaris HS Sharply Gives Way to Solaris KRX

In July 2025, the Solaris KRX cross-hatchback (Russian-assembled Kia Rio X-Line) led sales of Solaris models, while sales of the Solaris HS (Hyundai Solaris) significantly decreased.

According to "Autostat," a record number of Solaris cars were sold in Russia in July — 3,326 vehicles, which is the highest figure since the brand appeared on the market.

The most popular model was the KRX cross-hatchback, also known as the Kia Rio X-Line, with sales reaching 1,207 units. It was followed by the Kia Rio sedan (Solaris KRS) with 1,050 cars sold. The Hyundai Creta crossover (Solaris HC) took third place, with 906 units sold. At the same time, the Hyundai Solaris sedan (Solaris HS) lagged far behind the leaders, with sales of only 163 cars.

Production of Solaris began in February last year at the facilities of the AGR Group of Companies, located at the former Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg. The cars went on sale in March 2024. The previous sales record was set in April 2025 — when 2,298 Solaris cars were sold.

This result underscores the growing demand for updated Kia and Hyundai models, as well as a shift in consumer preferences towards crossovers and cross-hatchbacks. These sales reflect a trend in the new car market, influencing manufacturer strategies and customer choices.
