Construction of a 100 MW solar power plant has begun in the Derbent district of Dagestan. It will be launched in the first quarter of 2026. The project is being implemented by the "New Energy" company.
The solar power plant will be located on an area of 305 hectares. Currently, work has been completed on fencing the construction perimeter of about 2 km in length, and a construction camp has been fully built. Underground utilities are being moved outside the construction site and supporting structures for solar modules are being installed.
The Derbent solar power plant will become one of the largest solar power plants in the country and a unique project in the field of solar energy.
According to him, Southern Dagestan is in dire need of new power generation capacities, and the site in the Derbent district is ideal for implementing a large-scale project. The solar power plant will increase the reliability of power supply to Southern Dagestan and fully provide the daytime consumption of the Derbent district, which makes this project strategically important for the region.
Earlier www1.ru reported that UEC is developing rapidly erected power plants to provide remote areas.
