Хакеры перешли на целевые атаки: промышленность в зоне риска

The number of cyberattacks on industry has decreased, but the threats have become more complex and dangerous

In the first half of 2025, the number of cyberattacks on industrial enterprises decreased threefold compared to the same period in 2024. However, experts warn that hackers are now acting selectively, choosing sophisticated methods of intrusion.

According to RED Security SOC, more than 7.5 thousand attacks were recorded from January to June. Most of them are massive and poorly organized, which are easily blocked. But at the same time, the number of targeted attacks (APT) has increased. Such attacks require high preparation and can cost from 1 million rubles. The most frequently attacked are the food industry (29%), the oil and gas sector (23%), and mechanical engineering (17%). In the first case, hackers count on losses from downtime, in the second - on strategic value, in the third - on the theft of intellectual property.

They look for weaknesses in ERP systems, automated process control systems, and corporate mail. They also use social engineering, manipulating employees. According to Informzashita, attacks on SCADA systems have increased by 27%. Stopping them can paralyze production and create a threat to people. If the target is well protected, hackers attack its partners - software vendors, IT integrators. This allows you to bypass the main security systems.

Experts predict that APT groups will act covertly, remaining undetected for longer. This increases the risk of data leaks and sabotage.
