Генпрокуратура подтвердила хакерскую атаку на «Аэрофлот»

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 272 Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation based on the materials of the prosecutor's check

The cause of the failure in the operation of Aeroflot's information systems was a hacking attack, according to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation. Based on the materials of the prosecutor's check, a criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under Article 272 Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (unlawful access to computer information).

The Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office is monitoring the situation at Sheremetyevo Airport, where about 60 flights have been canceled and more than 80 have been delayed. A mobile reception office is operating at the airport, where citizens can get advice on the observance of their rights.

Aeroflot, in an official statement, acknowledged a failure in the IT infrastructure and guaranteed the return or exchange of tickets for canceled flights after the restoration of services.
