ITC ROSA has released a stable version of the ROSA Chrome 12.7 operating system. The update includes the Linux 6.12 kernel, improved MESA graphics libraries, and optimization for new processors and video cards.
Alexey Kiselev, Head of OS ROSA Development, noted that the system maintains stability while adding support for modern hardware. Updates are now installed faster, and battery charge is taken into account on laptops.
With the release of ROSA Chrome 12.7, we have retained the main thing — reliability — and added what modernity demands, namely: support for new equipment, accelerated updates, and improved graphics. This update is for those who value stability but are not willing to put up with outdated technologies.
The new release simplifies the installation of NVIDIA drivers through the system menu. The LibreOffice office suite has received fixes in Calc and Impress, including correct printing of tables and context menu operation. ROSA Chrome 12.7 has improved compatibility with Kyocera printers, Panasonic scanners, and network cards of older MacBooks. Russian root certificates have been added for working with government websites.
The Plasma 5 graphical shell has become more stable thanks to improvements from Plasma 6. The system is suitable for home and corporate tasks, maintaining a balance between reliability and current technologies.
