In Russia, 56 people have been discovered who have 1.2 million active SIM cards registered to them. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin and the government.
Shadayev emphasized that such volumes of SIM cards could be used for illegal activities. Law enforcement agencies should pay attention to this.
In addition, the minister spoke about a new package of measures to combat cyber fraud, some of which have already been approved by the State Duma. Among the bills are fines for transferring SIM cards and accounts to third parties. This initiative is expected to be considered in the Federation Council.
