Train fare to increase in Moscow: Free charging of electric vehicles canceled from July 23

The free charging program at Energia Moskvy stations has ended, and you will have to pay from 15 to 20 rubles per 1 kWh

The Moscow Department of Transportation has announced the end of the free electric vehicle charging promotion at Energia Moskvy stations on July 23, 2025. The city's car charging stations have been operating for free for almost 5 years and have carried out more than a million charging sessions.

Now, in order to charge an electric vehicle, you will have to pay 20 rubles/kWh for DC stations and 15 rubles/kWh for AC stations.

The authorities report that the introduction of payment for charging will help to improve the infrastructure faster and reduce the load on existing stations.

Other benefits, such as free parking within the city and the absence of transport tax, remain unchanged.
