TENET Car Painting Shop Fully Prepared for Full-Scale Production

The premises at the former Volkswagen plant have been fully adapted to "the requirements of Russian operating conditions"

Following the welding shop at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, the shop that will handle the painting of TENET cars has also been brought to full readiness for the production cycle. The company shared details about what the complete process of applying paint and varnish coatings to car bodies will look like.

The process will be carried out in 7 stages: degreasing and phosphating by full immersion, application of a cataphoretic primer using RoDip technology, body drying, protection of the underbody and sealing of seams with PVC materials, application of a secondary primer, base enamel and varnish, final body drying and treatment of hidden cavities with special wax, which further protects the car from corrosion.

For tests and measurements, more than 50 pre-production bodies were painted at the enterprise, and the tests confirmed "the compliance of the quality of the paintwork with the highest international standards".
