The automated passport control system "Sapsan" has been put into operation at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow. The new terminals are designed for adult citizens of Russia who have biometric passports (series 75 and above).
The system significantly reduces the time for document verification and speeds up pre- and post-flight procedures. It is also important that automated booths will help reduce the burden on border guards during the "hot" season.
The Sapsan system is developed on the basis of Russian software and domestic components. Automated booths are located in passport control areas both on departure and arrival, which greatly simplifies the control process for international flight passengers.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a new AI assistant is being introduced at Pulkovo Airport.
