Метрополитен Санкт-Петербурга получит новые составы «Балтиец»

Assembly and testing of the updated trains in the city's metro are expected to be completed by the end of August

A Baltiets train in a brown color scheme has arrived at the October Electric Car Repair Plant in St. Petersburg for final assembly, according to the governor of the region, Alexander Beglov.

Currently, plant specialists are installing door units, laying electrical wiring, and configuring power supply systems. The complete assembly of the trains is scheduled for completion by the end of August, after which they will undergo mandatory testing at the depot.

This train will run on the future Krasnoselsko-Kalininskaya line – its design is also made in brown tones.

The new cars will be used on the purple line of the St. Petersburg metro. They are equipped with doors with an electromagnetic control system, which improves the smoothness of the ride and reduces noise levels. Comfortable seats have also been installed in the cabins, and conditions have been created for people with limited mobility.

The Chairman of the Transport Committee, Valentin Enokaev, noted that the replacement of the metro's rolling stock is part of the city's transport infrastructure development plan. In parallel with the modernization of the metro, the modernization of the bus and electric bus fleets continues.
