Russian President Vladimir Putin launched traffic on the new section of the M-12 "Vostok" high-speed highway. It connects the settlements of Dyurtyuli in Bashkiria and Achit in the Sverdlovsk region.
Today, we are opening a new section of the Dyurtyuli - Achit road, which is more than 275 km long. It will become an important part of the M12 "Vostok" highway. With its commissioning, modern highways will connect St. Petersburg and Moscow with Yekaterinburg, the capital of the Urals, a leading scientific, industrial and cultural center of Russia.
Putin noted that high-speed seamless traffic without traffic lights is organized along the entire length of the highway. This reduces travel time from Yekaterinburg to Moscow by almost half.
The new section passes through Bashkiria, the Perm Territory, and the Sverdlovsk region. It is a four-lane highway with six transport interchanges, two in each region. It is expected that the new road will also help to remove freight traffic outside settlements, which will increase the investment attractiveness of the regions.
The length of the highway is 810 km and passes through five regions (Moscow, Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod regions, the Chuvash Republic and the Republic of Tatarstan). The highway is planned to be extended to Tyumen in 2026.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that a new section of the M-12 highwaywill appear in the Sverdlovsk region.
