The installation of the third tier of the inner containment structure has been completed at the second power unit of the El Dabaa NPP in Egypt. The stage was completed on schedule, and now specialists are preparing for the next important step – стыковке of the blocks into a single ring.
The installation of the last segment of the third tier ring, which has a diameter of 44 meters, took only two weeks. About 50 specialists took part in the installation process, and a crane with a lifting capacity of 1350 tons was used to perform the work.
According to Alexey Konenko, Vice President of JSC «Atomstroyexport» and Director of the El Dabaa NPP Construction Project, the reactor building of the second power unit rose by 9 meters in two weeks.
This year, we plan to install another tier of the ICS, and each of our next steps is based on accumulated experience and PSR standards," noted the Vice President of JSC «Atomstroyexport»
