A section of the federal highway M-12 "Moscow - Kazan - Yekaterinburg", located in the Sverdlovsk region, will be opened in July 2025. This was announced by the acting governor of the region, Denis Pasler, at the Innoprom-2025 international industrial exhibition.
If we talk about the launch of this component, I think it will happen this month. All the organizational work is underway, the work towards Tyumen is also in full swing, I have already driven once and saw that everything is moving, so everyone is interested in this road.
He noted that he drove twice along the Yekaterinburg - Kazan route to assess the progress of the work.
Of course, it has become much more comfortable, cozy, safer, which is the most important thing. And the time has been reduced. In any case, in the areas where I drove, almost twice.
The M-12 highway section under construction is located between the settlements of Dyurtyuli and Achit. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin previously stated that the completion of the construction of this section is scheduled for mid-summer 2025.
The M-12 "Vostok" highway will be extended to Yekaterinburg this year, and to Tyumen in 2026. Traffic on the road from Moscow to Kazan was launched at the end of December 2023. The length of the highway is 810 km and passes through five regions (Moscow, Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod regions, the Chuvash Republic and the Republic of Tatarstan).
In November 2023, the Russian government approved a decision to extend the highway to Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk and Tyumen. This will increase the total length of the M-12 "Vostok" highway to approximately 1,961 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a seamless high-speed corridor from East to West will operate on three highways in Russia.
