The project to create a microchip manufacturing factory on the territory of the second stage of the "Cosmos" technopark in the Sverdlovsk region is recognized as promising and meeting the current needs of the market. This opinion was expressed by Yuri Plyasunov, Director of the Department of Radio-Electronic Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, at the "Innoprom-2025" exhibition in Yekaterinburg.
He noted that the emergence of large-scale and high-tech projects in the Urals is an important step for the industry. An analysis of the balance of needs and current production showed that there is a real market for the "Karat" factory.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade supports the project and is ready to promote it within the framework of the cluster investment platform together with partners.
Earlier it was reported that the factory will be built by the end of 2026 on an area of 15 thousand square meters and equipped with modern equipment providing a full cycle of technological operations. It is assumed that "Karat" will become a supplier of standard solutions and will develop microcircuits according to individual orders of design centers and enterprises from all over Russia.
