The Rostec State Corporation showcased biometric terminals for the "Rodina Card" project for the first time at the Innoprom-2025 exhibition. The devices will allow Russians abroad to access Government Services, and foreigners to transmit data in advance before traveling to Russia. The first terminals will appear in Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan this year.
The terminals use multi-factor biometrics, including facial recognition, fingerprinting, and voice identification. In the future, retinal scanning, iris scanning, and palm vein pattern recognition will be added. The data is transmitted via secure communication channels, which minimizes the risk of leaks.
Alexander Nazarov, Deputy General Director of Rostec:
The introduction of biometric terminals into the "Rodina Card" project will increase the comfort of Russian and foreign citizens. Living abroad, moving, tourist trips, or migration will become accessible and safe. Bio-identification will be conducted via secure communication channels. The terminal's operation is based on identification technologies such as facial geometry, fingerprinting, and voice. Moreover, in the future, scanning of the retina and iris of the eye, as well as the pattern of veins in the palm, will be added. The equipment will be installed in Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan by the end of this year. In the future, they will operate in all countries where the "Rodina Card" project is present.
Earlier, the terminals were successfully tested at Pulkovo Airport during SPIEF-2025, where they sped up the processing of arriving passengers.
The "Rodina Card" project already allows Russians to obtain an electronic signature for remote document processing, opening accounts, and using public services. For foreigners, the system simplifies entry into the Russian Federation through preliminary data registration.
The terminals will be installed in the offices of the Osnovanie Certification Center (JSC "Analytical Center"). In the future, they will be deployed in all countries where the project operates.
Innoprom-2025 takes place in Yekaterinburg from July 7 to 10.
