The main distribution devices, reactor plant panels, and uninterruptible power supplies have passed the inspection

A set of electrical equipment manufactured by VNIIR-Progress for the upgraded floating power unit (UFPU) of Project 20871 has been approved by specialists from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

Key elements of the UFPU electrical system, including main distribution devices, shore power supply panels, emergency generator panels, reactor plant panels, and 110 V uninterruptible power supplies, meet safety and reliability standards. They will be operated in the Far North and Far East.

The UFPU of Project 20871 is being developed by the Nevskoe Design Bureau. It is designed to supply power to the Baimskaya ore zone in Chukotka. The power unit will produce up to 106 MW of electricity.

Characteristics of floating power units of Project 20871:

  • greatest width — 30 m;
  • hull height — 32 m;
  • draft — 5.5 m;
  • deadweight — 1507 t
