NtechLab, known for its developments in the field of computer vision, has presented a system capable of identifying lost items in real time. The algorithm analyzes images from surveillance cameras and identifies abandoned items measuring from 20×20 cm – suitcases, backpacks, bags, wallets, and other personal belongings.
A key feature of the technology is the ability to distinguish between truly forgotten items and those that are temporarily unattended. To do this, the AI considers the duration of the object in one place, with individual time thresholds set for different locations (metro, train stations, parks).
A pilot project is already ready for launch in one of Moscow's parks, and in the future, the system may be implemented in the metro, at railway stations, and in airports. According to the developers, this will not only speed up the search for lost items but also reduce the burden on security personnel.
