Video hosting Rutube has announced a complete update of the «Rutube Sport» service. This was announced by Sergey Kosinsky, Deputy General Director of Gazprom-Media Holding, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The platform will completely switch to its own technologies, which will expand the range of sports content and launch new advertising tools. The immediate plans include increasing the number of broadcasts of world sports events and amateur leagues, as well as creating entertainment and educational programs. Rutube intends to launch its own sports shows and cover significant events in its studios.
Kosinsky noted that the service interface will become more intuitive and will operate on the basis of recommendation systems that will help users find relevant content.
Currently, the audience for sports content on Rutube exceeds 6 million people per month. The company expects that by the end of 2026, the monthly audience of «Rutube Sport» will grow to 20 million users in Russia.
