Military personnel of the Central Military District (CMD) practiced skeet shooting skills using the IZH-27 smoothbore shotgun at a training ground in the Chelyabinsk Region. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The soldiers shot at moving special targets simulating UAVs of a mock enemy. The targets were similar in size to real drones and flew at the same speed.
Before practical actions, the military personnel underwent a theoretical course on the basics of anti-drone defense. Special attention was paid to assessing the speed and trajectory of the mock enemy's drone, and leading the target.
Characteristics of the IZH-27 shotgun:
- Variants of 20, 16, and 12 gauge
- Weight — up to 3.6 kg
- Chamber length — 7 cm
- Barrel length — up to 73 cm
- Effective firing range — 35-50 meters
