More than 30 Aircraft Involved: Pacific Fleet Begins Exercises in the Far East

The exercises will last from June 16 to June 30

The Pacific Fleet (TOF) of Russia has begun routine combat training for personnel in the Far East. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In accordance with the Naval Training Plan, a routine exercise of the Pacific Fleet forces has begun, conducted under the leadership of the Commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Viktor Liina. The exercise will take place in the fleet's combat training grounds located in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Okhotsk, and the Sea of Japan, and will last from June 16 to June 30.

The exercises involve up to 40 ships, boats, and support vessels, more than 30 aircraft and helicopters of the TOF naval aviation, as well as over 5,000 military personnel and civilian specialists. As part of the preparation, combat crews of the Bastion coastal missile systems were also involved.

During the exercises, a set of measures will be worked out to search for and track submarines of a mock enemy. It is planned to organize anti-ship and anti-aircraft defense of ship detachments at sea, as well as to launch joint missile strikes against single and group sea target positions. The participants of the exercises will strengthen practical skills in repelling attacks by enemy aircraft, drones, and unmanned boats.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that diesel submarines of the Pacific Fleet engaged in an underwater duel in the Sea of Japan.
