Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) began to destroy small-sized Poseidon drones thanks to new missiles. Initially, the system was designed to destroy enemy helicopters, but the tactical situation forced adjustments to its operation.
Strela-10 vehicles are normally equipped with a PKM machine gun, which was to be used for defense during movement. In today's conditions, this weapon has become in demand.
They are installed at observation posts and makeshift machines, hitting large multicopters, which are difficult to fire at at night from SAMs. As a result, in order to effectively provide cover for troops, anti-aircraft gunners use all types of anti-aircraft guns and small arms - each target has its own type of weapon.
Combat vehicle commander Vladimir noted that in recent weeks it was possible to destroy at least two new Poseidon drones. The drone combines the advantages of an airplane-type UAV and copters. The Poseidon design has four lifting rotors and one pusher, a twin-boom tail and developed wings.
The basic version of the Strela entered service back in 1976. The vehicle on the chassis of the MT-LB tracked transporter carries four missiles on a launcher. Initially, the complex was developed to combat low-flying aircraft and helicopters, but in modern conditions, Strelas are used to combat drones.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Kalashnikov has modernized the PPK-20 submachine gun: it will set the bar for 20 years ahead.
