Workers have concreted the foundation of the reactor building of the fourth power unit at the Leningrad NPP (located on the shore of the Gulf of Finland in the town of Sosnovy Bor). This was reported by the Rosatom press service.
The Director of the NPP, Vladimir Pereguda, said that in 2024, builders concreted the lower part of the foundation for the reactor building of power unit No. 3 in 103 days. This is 12 days ahead of schedule.
This year, we reached a record 80 days. At the same time, the quality of construction and installation work remains high.
The concrete is now gaining strength. After that, nuclear scientists will begin reinforcing and concreting the upper part of the foundation, "increasing" the thickness by almost 1.5 m.
Then they will begin to erect walls and floors, lay pipelines, install sealed lead-ins and install equipment. One of the power unit's safety systems — the "melt trap" will be installed in its regular place first. According to the plan, this will happen in 2026. The reactor vessel installation will be completed in 2029.
